Before you speak, look at those on the front row or in front of you, and smile.
Then, watch what happens. It’s a natural human response.
They’ll smile back.
The question you’re probably asking is, “Why is this so important?”
Glad you asked. It’s important for two reasons. First, it relaxes you and your audience. If your audience senses you’re nervous they’ll be nervous too.
Second, people usually don’t trust someone they don’t like. This is why launchers also need to be likable. If your idea is great but people don’t like you, it’s hard to see through you to your idea. A smile is a friendly, human gesture that says so much without speaking a word.
