Summary:

You probably have at least one person in your life who seems to have a constant flow of great ideas. Perhaps that person is you. Or, maybe, you’re currently in an idea rut. Whichever end of the spectrum you find yourself, just remember: a good idea comes from your thoughts, experiences, and energy. On today’s episode, our mentors, David Farmer, Jeff Henderson, and Kevin Jennings, share their insights on how to cultivate great ideas.

Welcome to episode 123 of the Launch Youniversity Podcast.

Three Takeaways:

  • Find some margin. Good ideas will come when you make room for them. Put some time on your calendar to allow ideas to grow. In today’s episode, Jeff Henderson mentioned using the library to take some time to unplug and allow yourself to think.
  • Wait 24 hours. Every good or new idea needs a 24-hour waiting period. Sometimes, that once great idea you thought you had doesn’t hold up over time. Before you share that idea, let it marinate and then find a trusted, positive small group of people to share your idea with.
  • Do social experiments. Now is the time to try new things. Sure, it may be considered wacky, but some of the best ideas are waiting right outside of your comfort zone. Open yourself up to engage new people, places, and experiences.
